Our workforce and how prepared are they
A 6 months on the job training is imparted to all counsellors and coordinators and emphasis is given to learning more about subjects and curriculum rather than hard sell techniques. Our counsellors are trained to talk with students regarding the areas that they wish to pursue and actually have knowledge spanning a wide range of areas and curriculum details be it Network Security, Development Studies, Law, Genetics or Marketing Management.
Most of our counsellors have also been trained in the UK and are tuned with the requirements for each and every course, have first-hand knowledge about what constitutes a good personal statement, keen eye to see if the student is fit for a particular course and this ensures a strong application which has maximum chances of an offer.
All the stages of the student enabling process are undertaken and this includes help with subject selection, creation of a good application, offer process, housing, assistance with the CAS and meeting of conditions, visa documentation and pre-departure briefing are covered.
For the past so many years we are also doing sessions on work culture in the UK and a plagiarism awareness programme as these are common problems that students from India are faced with and sometimes inadvertently as they are not exposed to such rules before.
Most counsellors have the British Council certificate in counselling although what we groom is more specialized in nature.
We have been a Trusted Partner for UKBA student visas from the beginning till the scheme ended.
Setup and Structure:
Our organization was set up as Sussex India and has acted as a Liaison office but with an agency agreement for 18 years since end 1993. We actively ran an engineering foundation programme from 1993 till 2003 and started hard core student recruitment from 1997.
